Dr. Rajab Idd Muyingo is the Executive Director of Esuga Elderly Support Uganda (ESUGA), where he provides strategic leadership and oversight to programmes dedicated to improving the dignity, wellbeing, and social inclusion of elderly persons across Uganda.
Dr. Muyingo holds a PhD in Radio and Television from Marmara University, Istanbul, Türkiye. He also earned a Master’s Degrees in Mass Communication from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Teaching at Higher Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Islamic University in Uganda. His academic and professional experience enables him to combine research, leadership, and community action in driving ESUGA’s mission forward.
With over 15 years of experience in academia, communication, and leadership, Dr. Muyingo brings a wealth of knowledge in community engagement, policy dialogue, and institutional development. His professional background in journalism and communication studies has strengthened ESUGA’s advocacy efforts, public awareness initiatives, and community-based outreach programmes.
Under his leadership, ESUGA has expanded its community partnerships, strengthened accountability structures, and enhanced programme delivery in areas such as health promotion, food security, livelihood support, and elderly rights advocacy. He is deeply committed to ensuring that elderly persons receive practical support while also advancing long-term, sustainable solutions that protect their dignity. As Executive Director, he continues to champion collaboration with local leaders, volunteers, partners, and international stakeholders to strengthen systems that support elderly persons and promote inclusive community development.
