Health Promotion and Elderly Care Support

ESUGA is committed to improving access to essential health services for elderly persons, particularly those living in underserved and vulnerable communities. Many senior citizens face barriers such as limited mobility, financial constraints, and inadequate access to medical facilities. Through community-based outreach and collaboration with local health providers, ESUGA works to bridge these gaps and promote healthier ageing.

Our programme focuses on preventive health education, routine health screenings, and early detection of common age-related conditions including hypertension, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and other chronic diseases. We support referrals to appropriate health facilities and encourage follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment and improved health outcomes.

In addition to medical outreach, ESUGA promotes awareness on nutrition, hygiene, mental wellbeing, and healthy lifestyle practices tailored to the needs of elderly persons. We also engage families and caregivers to strengthen home-based care systems, ensuring that elderly individuals receive compassionate and consistent support within their communities.

By prioritizing dignity, accessibility, and community participation, the Health Promotion and Elderly Care Support programme contributes to longer, healthier, and more secure lives for elderly persons across Uganda.
