Esuga Elderly Support Uganda (ESUGA) recently carried out a community-based food support initiative aimed at improving household nutrition among vulnerable elderly persons. As part of this outreach, livestock was prepared and distributed to beneficiaries, ensuring that elderly households received fresh meat to supplement their diets.
Food insecurity remains a significant challenge for many elderly individuals, particularly those living in poverty or without consistent family support. This initiative was organized to provide immediate nutritional relief while strengthening community solidarity and shared responsibility.
The distribution activity brought together volunteers, local leaders, and community members, creating an environment of cooperation and compassion. Beyond food support, the engagement provided an opportunity to interact directly with beneficiaries, listen to their concerns, and reinforce ESUGA’s commitment to dignity and inclusion.
Through such targeted interventions, ESUGA continues to respond to practical needs within communities while promoting wellbeing and respect for elderly persons across the region.
